 "Good purchase" 2009-12-23
By Terry27 (Manchester, UK.)
I did a lot of reading around before purchasing this netbook and the NC10 was almost always praised. I have not been dissapointed at all. It has met and exceeded my expectations. It is obviously no work horse. But for everday tasks it handles them very well. The build quality is good and the look is very nice. I upgraded to 2Gb RAM straight away, so I cannot tell you how well it runs on the standard 1Gb. I have had it for six months now and it has not missed a beat. I would definatley recommend it. The only thing is does struggle on is playing HD youtube videos in full screen hich is a bit strange as avi's and other video formats play fine in full screen.

"Great little machine but WATCH OUT!" 2009-12-11

I have no problems with the NC-10 and I'm not going to repeat the praise of others. It is a great little machine for people who want something light when they're on the move. However BEWARE! I bought the NC-10 in March of this year and it's just beginning to dawn on me that I've been diddled on the software front. All the Microsoft Office products it comes with are from 2002. I'm beginning to have problems with some of them which Microsoft is being less than helpful with as the product is old, out of date, and has now been replaced by a newer version. What to do....? My case is more problematic (any suggestions welcome) but if you haven't bought it yet - check before you do!

 "Top of the Net" 2009-11-02
By pepemia (scotland)
I was looking for a new laptop initially. Im not a demanding techie person- I like a laptop for surfing the net, checking emails and writing some word files. I also store music on it.

However when I saw this netbook I was really impressed. Its really easy to find information on the internet on the NC10 so I was able to do plenty of research.

Firstly this is an ideal. light size for transporting. Much, much better than heavy laptops. The battery life is good- it usually lasts me about 5 hours.I tend to plug into the mains at home. The mains cable for it is a good size for reaching various plug points.

It connects well to the internet, has good response and is really nice to type on. The keyboard is well spread out with firm keys.

The screen is a good size and I dont have to strain to read- which was what I was hesitant about buying this. It doesnt have a dc/dvd drive. However I bought a seperate slim drive that works really well.It has 3 usb ports and a headphone socket and mic socket.

I was looking for a laptop or netbook with microsoft works, so it worried me this didnt. It comes with open office which is compatable with microsoft works and has worked well for me.

Overall im really pleased with it -it has all the applications I was looking for Internet explorer, windows media ,open office and Windows messenger.

It looks really smart, easily maintained and very portable.

The only thing I find annoying is the small mouse pad but I bought a seperate net mouse.

So I really like this netbook, and am pleased I went for this small neat size. It wasnt an impulsive buy and with external hardrives etc I can see this lasting me a while. Definately recommended.

 "Fantastic Netbook" 2009-10-18
By C. A. MILBURN (UK)
Over the moon with this Netbook. Bought it from amazon a couple of months ago and it has been fantastic. Was intending to upgrade the RAM to 2GB but havent got round to it yet, however, to be honest its been fast enough with 1GB.

"Good value for money !" 2009-10-09
By Claude Durand (France)
Overall, a purchase that I am happy with.

I needed some kind of portable solution, basically for professional needs ; I do not care for games, multimedia fidgeting etc on a portable computer, I am more interested in reduced volume and weight and autonomy on batteries and I must say I got what I needed.

Of course, it is not a cannonball in terms of speed, but who cares when working on office documents or navigating the internet ; most times the speed limit is the one imposed by the connection or the remote site consulted, so this is not really a problem.

The keyboard is a pleasure to use, I would not say the same about the touch pad but anyhow I use a travel mouse and the pad is of little importance.

The SAMSUNG utility for locating WLAN access point is very convenient.

If you use it as SAMSUNG has configured it, your data will be in the same hard disk volume as the OS, which is exactly what wise people don't want to happen... Creating a separate volume ("E") for your data is a good idea but not easy to achieve unless you use a nice little freeware for partitioning called EASEUS Partition Master 4.0 Home Edition ; I recommend it.
