It is well made, but it is quite slow to start up. Appart form that, it is good.

This is a new model running on Windows 7.
Very pleased with the software and the computer. The machine is fast enough for my needs and plays iplayer and Skyplayer really well. To get smooth playback it appears to need to be plugged into the mains or change to speed mode, when on battery. You also need to be sure the included anti-virus program isn't running!!
I can't comment on battery life, which claims to be up to 10 hours as to get this result you need to lower the screen brightness etc.
It is worth noting that to avoid shortening the life of the battery pack, Samsung recommend only charging up to 80% They have included software which does this automaticly, but it needs to be set.

A great netbook all round!
Reserved looking, looks like a serious piece of kit (rather than some of the first generation of netbooks which looked like kids toys), nice keyboard, good touchpad and excellent battery life. What more could you ask for?
Seriously impressed with the performance of this thing given how tiny it is, I bought it initially for my other half to use during her commute and now wish I had my own to carry about.
Definitely well worth the purchase, I upgraded the RAM to 2GB which was incredibly easy to do (unscrew 1 screw, lift the panel, unclip 2 spring loaded clips and change ram... 3 minute job!!)

Having had a laptop for some time and finding it getting heavier and heavier I hoped a netbook would be the answer. In a word, the N140 is the answer. The first unit delivered had a fault but Amazon fixed that very smoothly by sending a replacement unit at top speed.
I have now had it for two weeks and surfing the net has never been easier.I am happy with win 7 and although I plan to upgrade to 2 gb of ram I now know I need not hurry to do this.
I like it and you should all get one.

The Laptop hardware is perfect. No complaints what so ever, but I must say I'm disappointed in realising a bit too late that it has Windows 7 Starter which doesn't even let you change the desktop background. I just read the "Windows 7" part of it and just imagined all the glitzy Aero interface will be there. I'm sure there are workarounds available, but can't beleive the feature is disabled by default and all the nice looks of Windows 7 will only work if you buy a upgrade to Home, Home Premium etc. I wanted to show off the nice fancy new laptop, but I'm put off big time with the default OS. I refuse to buy the upgrade and am downloading Linux as I write this.
